Okay, so to be fair, I never forgot. However, life, in its ineffable insanity has a way of allowing certain things to slip your mind for long periods at a time.
It has been three years since I made any kind of posting in this space, so, shall we catch up?
Zinnia (formerly known as Baby Z) is Three years old...going on 13, haha. In all seriousness though, she is one of the sweetest, most intense little kids I've ever had the honor of knowing and loving. If I thought nannying prepared me for having kids, I was beyond wrong. This wonderful kiddo has thrown every unexpected and insane thing she can think of at me. At the very least it's made life with her siblings less daunting.
Since last we spoke, we have had some new additions; One heavenly baby, and two Earthside little ones. Sweet Pea is nearly two, she will be in August, and she has the sweetest gentlest little heart. She is starting to get a little feisty (one has to be to deal day in and day out with her older sister), but she's less willful in some ways than Zinnia. Then there's our most recent addition who just turn 6 months old, Baby Edelweiss is the most content joyful little wonder. Her smile makes my heart sing.
Yes, three girls. Someday there will be a boy in the mix, I'm sure, but not yet.
(For context on their names, If you do a deep dive in my Instagram, you can probably find their birth announcements, but as a general rule, here at least I'm not going to be using their real names (most of the time). Perhaps at some point I will write about the Saints that we chose for each of them, but for now they will be known by their floral nom de plumes.)
In terms of Homesteading, quite a bit has happened. We got the house we were bidding for, and on our half acre of land, we have built a small garden (which I cannot keep up with between seasonal allergies and small children), and a chicken coop that currently houses seven hens and a Rooster.
We are growing in family, faith, and resourcefulness, and I'm exciting to start bringing you back along with me on this journey.
In Christ,
MJ
